Two new patrons join Neotists
We are delighted to announce two new patrons who have joined our organisation.
Nik Johnston
Dr Nik as he’s fondly referred to locally – is a Labour Co-op politician who served as district councillor for St Neots East before being elected Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in 2021. Compassion, community and co-operation are Nik’s watchwords and why his values fit so beautifully with those of Neotists. Nik was appointed as a Consultant Paediatrician at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in 2006 and believes passionately in the idea of public service. He is proud to be the Patron of Eddies – a local charity supporting people with learning disabilities and at some point in the future hopes to campaign for Peterborough, Cambridge and Ely to become combined Cities of Culture.
Stephen Ferguson
Stephen is a well known figure in St Neots, both for his outspoken belief in independent politics, which led him to be elected Mayor and Independent County Councillor, and for founding St Neots’ first parkrun and his fondness for his sausage dogs. Stephen is a long-time supporter of Neotists and worked with us to reclaim the Market Square for the community to enjoy many different forms of entertainment, while increasing footfall in the town and supporting local businesses in very practical ways. We’re looking forward to more opportunities to work together.
