Drink and Draw
The introductory Drink and Draw event in April 2024 at The Barley Mow was a tremendous success, drawing an enthusiastic crowd eager to unleash their inner Picasso while enjoying their favourite beverages. Due to its overwhelming popularity, the event will now become a regular fixture, taking place on the second Wednesday of every month for the foreseeable future.
Attendees can expect an evening filled with artistic expression and conviviality as they gather around tables adorned with paper, pencils, and more. Guided by their host, Jen Nesbitt, and fuelled by their imaginations and the vibrant ambiance of The Barley Mow, participants are free to dabble in doodles, sketch masterpieces, and even experiment with new techniques—all while reviling in the lively atmosphere of the pub.
We aim to create an event where people could come together, unwind, and let their creativity run wild. The response in April exceeded our expectations. It was incredible to see so many individuals embracing their artistic side while enjoying the fantastic hospitality of The Barley Mow.
The success of the evening wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated staff of The Barley Mow, whose warm welcome and impeccable service ensured that everyone felt right at home.
Karen Walker, owner of The Barley Mow, shared her enthusiasm
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with The Neotists to host such a vibrant and engaging event. It was fantastic to see our patrons come together to celebrate art, creativity, and community. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for future Drink and Draw evenings.”
As glasses clinked and pencils sketched, the inaugural Drink and Draw evening hosted by the Neotists at The Barley Mow proved to be a delightful fusion of artistry and camaraderie. With plans already underway for future events, the creative spirit is sure to continue flowing at this beloved neighbourhood pub.
